Succeeding in Television Production and Entertainment
Television is all about communicating messages through images and words.
Your success in producing a message that is visual and stimulating and one that reaches the intended audience depends on good verbal and written communications skills. You’ll often have to conduct research in libraries and on the internet, or through personal interviews to gather the facts or opinions you’ll need to develop and produce story ideas. And of course, you’ll need great computer skills to write, edit and share your ideas with others. Teamwork and the ability to work with a diverse team are also very important components to your success. When working with a team in television, reliability and excellence are essential. In every production environment, you’ll be networking with production professionals who will take notice of your ability, work ethic and interpersonal working relationships. You never know who will be putting together a team to work on the next award-winning production, so it’s important to strive for excellence, even in your classes and internships.
