CLASSROOM SUPPORT SERVICES

For media equipment

48-hour advance notice required

--All media equipment, which is supported by the IMC is delivered and set-up according to the needs of the classroom and the faculty member. 

--Once the equipment has been delivered, the faculty member is responsible for its proper operation and security. 

--Please contact the IMC if you experience technical difficulties or if there is a change in your schedule.

--To schedule a delivery, please complete a “Multimedia Request” Form and submit it in person, by phone, or online at least 48 HOURS before you need the equipment to:

STREAMING MEDIA
ON-DEMAND

48-hour advance notice required

--The IMC is responsible for the digitization and electronic delivery of selected media to the classroom, including video and audio on demand. 

--The IMC streams media in several formats based on the type and application of the audio-visual content.

--To schedule a streaming media, please complete a “Multimedia Request” Form and submit it in person, by phone, or online at least 48 HOURS before you need this service to:

LAPTOP CHECKOUT

48-hour advance notice required

--The IMC provides laptops for check out (subject to availability).

--Once a laptop has been checked out to a faculty member, that faculty member is responsible for the proper operation and security of the equipment. 

--Please contact the IMC if you experience technical difficulties or if there is a change in your schedule.

--To check out a laptop, please complete a “Multimedia Request” Form and submit it in person, by phone, or online at least 48 HOURS before you need the laptop to:

VIDEO CONFERENCING

2-week advance notice required

--Conferencing services provided by the IMC consist of satellite, 4CNET including ISDN, V.35, and IP (in the near future).

--Video conferencing scheduling is subject to space availability on 4CNET.

--To schedule a video conference, you must schedule a room with Facilities.  The IMC can provide you with a list of video conferencing locations.

--Once a room has been secured, complete a “Multimedia Request” Form and submit it in person, by phone, or online at least 2 WEEKS before your video conference to::

VIDEO PRODUCTION SERVICES

One full semester advance notice required

--The Instructional Media Center provides video production services including videotaping, editing, and post-production.

--To schedule video production services, complete a “Multimedia Request” Form and submit it in person, by phone, or online at least ONE FULL SEMESTER before you need the video to:

SATELLITE DOWNLINKING &
OFF-AIR RECORDING

72-hour advance notice required

--The IMC can downlink satellite programs as upon request (with the appropriate license), and record cable programs off-air.

--To schedule these services, complete a “Multimedia Request” Form and submit it in person, by phone, or onlinealong with any licenses at the time of this request – at least 72 HOURS before you need this service to:

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

2-week advance notice required

--The IMC provides digital/35mm photography services including copy stand photography (photos from books).

--All photography service requests are subject to U.S. Copyright Law, and requests for photography of copyrighted images must be accompanied with written permission from the copyright holder.

--To schedule these services, complete a “Multimedia Request” form and submit it in-person, by phone, or online at least 2 WEEKS before you need this service to:

POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS

2-week advance notice required

--The IMC provides assistance in the development of PowerPoint presentations.

--To schedule this service, complete a “Multimedia Request” form and submit in-person, by phone, or online at least 2 WEEKS before your need your PowerPoint presentation to:

EQUIPMENT ACQUISITION, INSTALLATION, REPAIR

One full semester advance notice required

--The IMC supports equipment acquisition for all departments in the district. 

--The IMC specifies equipment and conducts site surveys for installation purposes. 

--Installation charges may apply based on time and day. 

--Engineering charges may apply for structural evaluation.

--The IMC reserves the right to schedule installations at their discretion. 

--Repair services are available for equipment that is specified for purchase by IMC.

MEDIA LICENSING & PERMISSION REQUESTS

One full semester advance notice required

--The IMC adheres to:

-Copyright Law (Title 17, United States Code)

-Fair Use Guidelines for Educational Multimedia

-RCCD Board Policy 5045: Use of Copyrighted Material  regarding print and multimedia materials.

MEDIA DUPLICATION & CONVERSION

2-week advance notice required

--The Instructional Media Center provides duplication and/or format conversion for audio-visual materials. 

--Any duplication/conversion request for commercial multimedia must be accompanied by written permission from the copyright holder.

--To request media duplication or conversion services, contact:

DLLRC ROOM SCHEDULING

2-week advance notice required

Request media services & equipment for use in these rooms at the time your make your reservation.

If you wish to operate the high-tech equipment in these rooms yourself, you must get training from IMC staff.

--The DLLRC [Digital Library & Learning Resource Center] has three high-technology rooms that can be scheduled for District use in support of instructional programs:

-The DLLRC Auditorium (DL 121)

-The DLLRC Telemeeting Room (DL 409)

-The DLLRC Multimedia Classroom (DL 108).

--Reservations are made on a first come, first served basis – so it is important to submit your request as far in advance as possible.

--A minimum of 2 WEEKS advance notice is required.

--All media services and equipment required for your class must be requested when the reservation is made.   Media services may include equipment operation, videoconferencing, and media production.   Please describe any equipment that will be used in the course of the class.

--Due to the complex and expensive nature of the technology in the rooms, extensive training will be required for those individuals who will be operating equipment within the room.

--The IMC offers training sessions on the use of this technology. Advance reservations are required.  You will be asked to sign-up for a training session when you make your room request.
